Rita P. Schloder, of Indiana, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 4 at Heritage Grove in Indiana at the age of 81. Born in Winber, PA on October 5, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Lois E. (Hitechew) and Frank W. Pizer, Sr. She was the loving wife of the late Harry E. Schloder, Sr. who passed away in 2017 after 54 years of marriage.
Rita was a member of the Homer City Church of the Nazarene, where she worked in the nursery. She enjoyed sewing, homemaking and spending time with her grandchildren. She worked as a shipping manager for FMC Manufacturing in Homer City for 38 years until her retirement.
She is survived by sons Harry E. Schloder, Jr (wife Pam) of Barton, NY and David W. Schloder (wife Kimberly) of McIntyre. She is also survived by a brother Frank W. Pizer, Jr. (wife Vickie) and sister Lois Gerber (late husband Gary), all of Indiana. A brother-in-law, Bob Shank of Corral also survives. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Chandler Schloder (wife Alyssa); Carson Schloder; Lauren Schloder; and DJ Schloder and 1 great-granddaughter, Ella Schloder. In addition to her husband and parents, Rita was predeceased by her sisters Nancy Shank, Nora Patterson, a brother Thomas Pizer and brother-in-law Gary Gerber.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 7 at the Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N. 7th St. Indiana, PA with The Rev. Harry E. Schloder, Jr. officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
