The Pirates put all-purpose infielder Jared Triolo on the 10-day injury list with a sore lower back yesterday and called up infielder Tsung-Che Cheng, who spent most of last season with Altoona. He played six games at Indianapolis last year and five so far this season. Triolo was removed from the lineup before Sunday’s win over the Yankees when his back tightened up.
In tonight’s middle game of the three-game series, the Pirates’ Paul Skenes [1-0, 1.46 ERA] goes against Cards’ ace Sonny Gray [1-0, 5.73 ERA]. Airtime is 6:15 with the first pitch at 6:40 on WCCS.

The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired former Pirates top draft pick Quinn Priester from the Red Sox in exchange for outfield prospect Yophery Rodriguez. The Sox get the 33rd overall pick in this year’s draft and a player to be named later. Priester started his season pitching for the Red Sox’ Triple-A team in Worcester, Massachusetts.
