Indiana County Commissioners will meet this morning and the proposed Emergency Medical Services Authority is on the agenda.
The motion will concern the final approval for the authority to form and to send the articles of incorporation to the state for approval. The group would consist of 13 members, one from each of 10 municipal districts, along with two at-large members and a non-voting chief executive officer. Their goal would be to provide a sustainable model for emergency services.
Special public meetings were held in January to answer concerns about the authority, and to have municipalities join in, with 25 local governments signing on during meetings. On March 26th, the Commissioners held a public hearing before their regular meeting to receive further comment from the public on the matter.
