The Indiana County Commissioners this morning approved the creation of the countywide Emergency Management Authority.
Commissioners Chairman Mike Keith said the authority will be made up of nine positions. Eight will represent the districts, with a ninth seat representing the entirety of the county. 31 of 38 municipalities have joined the authority and will delegate the emergency service responsibility to the authority. He said that if the others wish to join, they would be welcome.
Audio PlayerKeith said that the group’s articles of incorporation will be filed in Harrisburg and the first meeting of the authority will be held after those articles are approved.
Also during the meeting, the Commissioners approved withdrawing some complaints in the opioid litigation concerning a few pharmacy benefit managers and pharmacies.
