In recognition of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, Pennsylvania officials are spotlighting efforts to support survivors and raise awareness of their rights.
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, along with the Office of Victim Advocate and advocacy groups across the state, are highlighting Governor Shapiro’s proposed $9 million investment in the Victims Compensation Assistance Program as part of the 2025–26 state budget. Last year alone, more than 323,000 Pennsylvanians were victims of crimes such as domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and gun violence.
The week serves as a reminder of the need to ensure all victims of crime receive the support and justice they deserve.
