An Indiana woman was arrested yesterday by Indiana County Sheriff’s Deputies as they were serving a protection from abuse order in White Township.
Deputies were called to 850 Pine Street at 1:53 PM when they spoke with a woman, later identified as 28-year-old Elizabeth Stauffer, who was being served with the PFA order. Stauffer refused to leave the building she was being evicted from and disregarded multiple warnings to do so. As deputies placed her under arrest, she became disorderly and resisted.
She was initially arraigned in front of District Judge Christopher Welch and placed in Indiana County Jail on the PFA order. Additional charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct were filed through District Judge Susanne Steffee’s office.
