Akron scored three runs off the Altoona bullpen in the sixth and seventh innings Saturday to grab a 4-3 victory over the Curve.
After Anthony Solometo worked five innings of one-run baseball, Emmanuel Chapman gave up a run in the sixth, then walked the first two batters of the seventh inning, with both of those runners eventually scoring off Cy Nielson.
Solometo gave up one hit and one walk and struck out five. In his two starts this season, he’s given up just one run in ten innings with seven strikeouts.
Termarr Johnson had two of the Curve’s hits, giving him a six-game hitting streak since the start of the season. Sammy Siani also had two hits and Jase Bowen hit his first home run.
The series concludes this afternoon with Po-Yu Chen making his second start of the season for Altoona.
