Judge Bilik-DeFazio is also scheduled to hold status conferences tomorrow for two of the three defendants charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of a New Florence woman whose body was found buried beneath her back porch in December of 2023. Matthew Bates and Robert Jack, both of whom are 19 years old, are accused of shooting 71-year-old Alice Robson to death at her home along Furnace Lane in Saint Clair Township. Prosecutors allege that they did it on the order of the victim’s daughter, 51-year-old Melissa Fox-Beacom, the third defendant in the case.
Both Bates and Jack accuse the other of pulling the trigger.
A status conference and a motion to exclude evidence in Fox-Beacom’s case are scheduled to be heard on May 12th.
