Several power lines were reported down during the strong windstorms that came through Indiana County yesterday.
For areas of White Township, a transformer was reported down near the PennDOT Facility in Heatherbrae Square. That knocked out power to several businesses in the area, including the Indiana Mall and others. Power was restored to those areas by the end of the day.
While REA energy reports no outages, Penelec crews are dealing with 42 outages in the county this morning. Most of them are in Montgomery and Conemaugh Townships. Work is expected to wrap up by 11:00 tonight at the latest.
Indiana County 911 also reported six incidents of power lines coming down between 12:59 and 4:29 PM yesterday. Those were in Montgomery, Young, Green, Buffington and Conemaugh Townships along with Creekside Borough.
