Charges of child pornography possession were filed yesterday against a Starford man.
Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi announced that accusations were made against 51-year-old Ross Allen Smith. County detectives received an investigative referral regarding internet use for child sexual abuse materials and found that the items were being downloaded in the Starford area. A search warrant was obtained, and members of the state police joined the county detectives in executing it. A smart phone belonging to Ross was seized and evidence of child abuse material was found on the device.
Smith was remanded to Indiana County Jail in lieu of $10,000 straight cash bail. A preliminary hearing before District Judge Christopher Welch is set for April 21st.
