BASEBALL
Brayden Rado had three hits and Braden Dunn, Nash Budner, and Nate Birchall all had two to lead Homer-Center to an 11-2 win over Portage. Birchall drove in three runs and Budner two and Noah Turk got the win, scattering nine hits and striking out eight over six-and-two-thirds innings. For the Mustangs, Easton Slanoc, Trae Kargo, and Jonah Irvin all had two hits.
Northern Cambria remained the only team with an unbeaten conference record, bombing River Valley, 15-0, in three innings.
Braden Butler and James Kordish combined on a two-hitter as United shut out Penns Manor, 4-0. Butler went five-and-a-third and struck out six. Connor Darr had two hits and drove in two runs for the Lions.
Conemaugh Township shut out Conemaugh Valley, 4-0. Bryce Conn had two hits and Reed Conn had three RBIs.
Purchase Line went out of conference and walloped Harmony, 13-2. Christian Moyer had three hits, including a home run, and Wyatt Sheredy and Devlan Kordish both had three hits. Stephen Perrusso also had two hits for the Red Dragons.
Cambria Heights played Penn Cambria out of conference and gave up two runs in the bottom of the seventh in a 5-4 loss. Anthony Swander had three hits and everybody else in the Highlanders’ lineup had one.
SOFTBALL
Ava King hit a home run and had two hits, Taylor Rado had two hits, and Bekah Marshall struck out twelve as Homer-Center got by Portage, 6-4. Mikaila McCoy had two hits for the Mustangs.
Marion Center remained undefeated with a 12-0 win over Penns Manor. Alivia Ruddock, Brookelynn Hill, Macie Miller, and Natalie Black all drove in two runs and Cheyenne Silvis pitched the shutout.
A four-run fourth inning led West Shamokin to a 6-1 win over Purchase Line. Cameron Vandervort and Maddi Keirn each had two hits for the Wolves and Leah Mondi drove in two runs and in the circle, she struck out eleven. Rylee Adams had a double and an RBI for the Red Dragons.
Conemaugh Valley routed Conemaugh Township, 9-1.
