Dry weather will continue today following the passage of a warm front. Southwest wind will gust from 25 to 35 mph at times, as temperatures reach the mid 70s to near 80.

BIGGEST CHALLENGE FACING VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANIES

The spring has been a difficult one for first responders, with fatal accidents, wildfires, and the storms and resultant power outages.  What are the biggest challenges facing volunteer fire companies?

Personnel.  The average age of a Pennsylvania firefighter is 48.  
Equipment.  New fire trucks start at $500,000 and can top $1 million.
Mandates.  Their training requirements are too difficult.
Danger!  A first responder is always in jeopardy.
All of the above and more!
