Yesterday, PennDOT officials highlighted some of the projects that will be going on across District 10.
PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll and District 10 executive Brian Allen highlighted 40 projects that will take place in the five-county district that is made up of Indiana, Armstrong Butler, Jefferson, and Clarion counties. Over $148 million is expected to be invested in projects this construction season, including the rehabilitation of 195 miles of highway in the region and work on 24 bridges. Some of the projects in Indiana County will include:
- Safety improvements at the intersection of Indian Springs Road and Rustic Lodge Road in White Township.
- Bridge replacement projects for South 6th Street bridge over Yellow Creek and for the bridge that carries Clarksburg Road over Blacklegs Creek
- Construction of the multi-purpose pedestrian bridge over Route 22 as part of the Hoodlebug trail system in Burrell Township
- Restoration of the 422 bypass in White, Center and Armstrong Townships.
In Armstrong County, the projects will include:
- A safety improvement project for the Goheenville Dip in Pine Township
- Bridge preservation activity for the bridge that carries 422 over the Allegheny River in North Buffalo and Manor townships.
In a statement, Allen said that the projects are meant to improve the existing transportation system and make sure the needs of those travelling it are met.
