Lawrence B. Hileman, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at his residence.
He was born in Indiana County, PA on November 8, 1940 to the late Lawrence Reed and Jesse Margarite Brown Hileman and was the husband of Linda Lee Clark Hileman of the home.
Lawrence was a US Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of Blairsville Presbyterian Church in Blairsville, PA where he and Linda got married nearly 40 years ago. Lawrence had a long and successful career as a truckdriver, specializing as a long-haul carrier and also worked a side job transporting new RV’s. He had an adventurous spirit that led him to travel many roads to and from the West Coast in his own RV. Lawrence was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed reading, namely Western novels, and watching Western TV shows like Gunsmoke and Bananza. Most of all, Lawrence cherished time spent with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; sons, Mark Henry (Jennifer), Herbert Henry (Carolyn); eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; brother, John Hileman (Mary Martha); sisters, Dorothy Pietruszas, Jean Basinger; nephew, David Nicholson and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mae Manning.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 26, 2024 from 3-5 PM at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 5 PM in the funeral home with Rev. John Manon officiating. Blairsville Military Honor Guard and the US Army will conduct military services immediately following the funeral service. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery.
