Two people and an unborn child were killed and one person was hurt in a crash on Warren Road in Center Township Saturday afternoon.
The accident happened around 2:55 PM just 200 feet east of King Hill Road. Troopers say an SUV was speeding east on Warren Road and crossed the center line as it was negotiating a right curve. It hit a small car going west and then crashed head-on into another car, before hitting an embankment and overturning.
The driver of the SUV, 57-year-old Daniel L. Ryan of Indiana, and the driver of the third car, 34-year-old Nathan Blystone of Kent, were pronounced dead at the scene. 31-year-old Denton L. Shively of Indiana was driving the second car and was not hurt. Thirty-three-year-old Ashley Layton of Kent, a passenger in Blystone’s vehicle, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Her unborn child was also pronounced dead.
State police were assisted by PennDOT; Indiana County Emergency Management Agency; Citizens Ambulance; STAT MedEvac; Firefighters from Indiana, Homer City and Aultman fire departments; the county coroner and a member of the PA Game Commission.
