Students and teachers will be honored tonight at the Excellence in Education banquet at the KCAC.
The program is a partnership between the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce, Indiana County Schools and the Colonial family of dealerships. 56 students and eight teachers from Indiana County’s Public Schools and ICTC will be recognized for their outstanding efforts through the year. During the banquet, one teacher and one student will be selected to receive a new car from Colonial. One student from each district will also be presented with a scholarship from the United Way of Indiana County, on top of scholarships for a teacher and student that is recognized as the most philanthropic.
This year’s event will also feature KDKA-TV Morning News Anchor Lindsey Ward. The Penn Run native and Penns Manor High School and IUP Graduate has worked in journalism for 15 years, and has won numerous awards for her reporting and anchoring.
