BASEBALL
Purchase Line added some flavor to today’s West Shamokin game at Homer-Center by scoring six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to upset the Wolves 10-9. Each team had fourteen hits. Devlan Kordish had three hits, including a home run for the Red Dragons. Christian Moyer had three hits, with a triple. Matthew Johnston had two doubles and Brady Bingaman, Jacob Stein, and Ryan Matko all had two hits. For West Shamokin, Braden Talmadge and Gunnar Shoop both had three hits, while Vince Harkleroad, Kash Julius, Jude Olinger, and Ben McConnell all had two.

A six-run fourth and a four-run fifth opened the door for United’s 12-4 win over Portage. The Lions had seventeen hits, with Ryan Felix going 4-for-4 with two doubles. Peyton McElwee, Dmitri Worthington, Connor Darr, James Kordish, and Cole McGinnis all had two hits. Portage had five hits, all singles, by five different players.
Marion Center’s Troy Slovinsky drove in four runs and had two hits in a 12-2 win over the Kiski School.
Penns Manor lost to Harmony, 2-0.
Conemaugh Township beat Windber, 12-2.
Conemaugh Valley lost to Mo Valley, 3-2.
SOFTBALL
Cheyenne Silvis set the school record for career victories with 48 as Marion Center shut out River Valley, 10-0. The Stingers had thirteen hits, including a 4-for-4 day at the plate for Macie Miller. Brooklynn Hill had three hits, Gracynn Silivs and Kailey Anderson each had two.
Cambria Heights had only two hits, but scored two runs in the first inning and one in the seventh in a 3-0 win over Penns Manor. Gina Lane had both of the Highlanders’ hits, including a double and two runs driven in. Rylee Lane struck out ten for the win while Allie Rhea took the tough luck loss. Katie Bertolino had two hits for the Comets.
West Shamokin’s Leah Mondi gave up an unearned run in the first and then shut down Homer-Center the rest of the way as the Wolves downed the Wildcats, 6-1. Cameron Vandevort had three hits and Mondi and Maya McIlwain both had two. Mondi drove in two runs. Homer-Center had three hits, including Bekah Marshall’s double.
United lost to Blacklick Valley, 18-3.
