Simmons said that after serving with both the Indiana Fire Association and with Citizen’s Ambulance, he will enjoy working with the police department.
After he was sworn in, Simmons swore in new borough council members Luke DeBuyser, Tamara Collazzo and Joshua Krasta along with returning members Gerald Smith and Donald Lancaster.
During their regular meeting, Indiana Borough Council made another appointment, as the council voted 8-3 to appoint Sharon Herring to a two-year term of office. She takes over for Betsy Sarneso, who moved out of Indiana Borough Ward 3. Herring will be sworn in during February’s borough council regular meeting.
