PennDOT has announced two railroad crossing closures that will happen on September 26th.
One is for the Huff Road crossing in West Wheatfield Township. The closure will be from 6:00 in the morning on the 26th and will go until 6:30 the next morning, but there will be a detour in place. On the north side of the tracks, the detour uses Power Plant Road, Mulligan Hill Road, then onto 259 South into Westmoreland County, Creek Road, Route 711 and Ligonier Street back to Indiana County, then back on Huff Road. Those on the south side will use the same roads in reverse. The closure will allow crews to perform railroad crossing maintenance.
The other closure will go from 6 AM on the 26th and will reopen at 6:00 PM on October 11th. This will be for a portion of Route 56 between the intersections with Routes 422 and 210 in Armstrong County. The detour will use 422 and 210 to go around the scene. Rinehart railroad crews will work on the crossing.
