The Penns Manor School Board held a special voting meeting ahead of their committee meeting last night.
The voting meeting dealt with the hiring of a new business manager for the district and the appointment of a new board secretary. The board unanimously approved Jennifer Sleppy’s hiring. Her first day of work will be determined by the administration based on her release from her current job as Financial Director for Blair County. The board also unanimously approved appointing Nicole Peterson as the board secretary to fill out the unexpired term of Joshua Muscatello, which ends June 30th of 2025.
During the Committee meeting, one of the topics of discussion was the Act I tax resolution. The resolution would state that the district would not raise taxes above the Act In index level for the district. For this year, it would be a five percent increase. The board was also reminded that passing the resolution does not lock the district into increasing taxes for the 2022-2023 school year.
The board will have their regular meeting next Wednesday night at 7:00 PM in the district board room.
