State police say a man who shot at troopers responding to a domestic incident Saturday night in White Township is dead.
Troopers were dispatched at 9:57 PM to an apartment building at 4857 Lucerne Road after a man called state police headquarters about a domestic incident involving his adult son, later identified as 22-year-old Henry Divinskiy of New York. Police were also told that he was armed with a semi-automatic rifle. When troopers arrived, the suspect fired several shots from an upstairs bedroom window of the apartment building, hitting a patrol vehicle and nearly hitting his father and a trooper who tackled him to the ground to protect him. Troopers then took cover, but did not return fire.
Additional troopers were called to the scene, along with members of the Special Emergency Response Team. They tried to contact Divinskiy, but did not get a response. SERT members used a drone to survey the scene and found him lying on the floor. After entering the building, they found him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
State troopers were assisted by the Indiana and Homer City fire departments, the coroner’s office and the county emergency management agency.
