Two children were hurt in a fire last night in West Wheatfield Township.
Firefighters from Bolivar, New Florence, Fairfield Township, and Clyde were summoned to 251 Caroline Street around 1:17 a.m. for a structure fire, along with the RIT team, Citizens’ Ambulance, and West End Ambulance.
State police say two girls, one seven-year old and one nine-year old, were trapped inside, but were extricated by firefighters. Both were taken to Children’s Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries and both are reportedly in critical condition. Bolivar fire chief John Speidel said the home is not a complete loss.
The Troop A Fire Marshal Unit is investigating the cause of the fire. Once we hear more information, we will pass it along to you.
