No arrests have been made in a fatal shooting that happened one year ago in White Township
Today marks the one-year anniversary of a fatal shooting at the Chevy Chase Community Center. The shooting was reported at 12:30 AM at a non-university-sanctioned IUP Homecoming party. One person, 22-year-old Jamar Montae Porterfield Harriot, Jr. of Homestead was killed in the shooting and eight others were injured.
We reached out to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office, who is handling the prosecution of this case. They said they have nothing they can release publicly, except for the fact that the case is pending.
State police public information officer Trooper Cliff Greenfield also released a statement saying the shooting is still an active investigation. While no arrests have been made, he said that a considerable amount of resources have been and will continue to be devoted to the investigation.
Anyone with information on the case can call 1-800-4-PA-TIPS or log on to a website to submit tips to the state police.
