The former Eastern Orthodox Foundation building south of Penn Run was destroyed this morning by a fire.
Crews from Cherryhill, Pine Township, Commodore and Brush Valley fire departments were initially dispatched at 2:35 AM for the fire on Route 422 at the former location of the Elroy Face Motel that was later converted to a facility to house parolees, the emotionally handicapped, alcoholics and others to help them recover. Fire chief Jody Rainey said that the building is a total loss, and that it was mostly destroyed when the first crews arrived.
One very minor injury was reported. Clymer and Indiana fire companies were called to the scene later on to assist, and Coral-Graceton fire department was summoned to provide an air truck. An excavator has also been called in to knock down some parts of the building to put out hot spots.
The cause of the fire is unknown. State Police fire marshals will be on-scene later to investigate.
