At a special meeting last night, the Indiana County Republican Party nominated Bonni Dunlap as the person who will take over for Commissioner Robin Gorman when she steps down on November 8th.
Members of the party heard from five nominees before eliminating all but two people in the first round of voting. In the second round, Dunlap was named the Committee’s choice. Dunlap has served as a county auditor since 2019, served 21 years as the Director of Human Services and then served as the executive director of the Indiana County Housing Authority.
In a news release, party Chairman Randy Degenkolb said he was pleased with how the process went and appreciated all the candidates who applied. He will submit Dunlap’s name to Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco for final approval.
