At Thursday night’s meeting, the Homer-Center School Board approved the purchase of new marching band uniforms.
The 100 new band uniforms and 20 new colorguard uniforms that will be used over a ten-year cycle, which will give them extra uniforms as needed. To help defray the up to $66,600 cost, the band boosters have committed $10,000 to the purchase and will also assume all repair costs and the purchase of any additional uniforms or pieces through the ten years. Superintendent Ralph Cecere said he was appreciative of their support.
The board also approved the first reading of seven policies ranging from discipline for students with disabilities to eligibility of non-resident students. Those policies will be up for a second reading next month.
