INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Indiana Borough Police have charged an Indiana man with identity theft and other crimes for an incident earlier this month. Police say on October 5th, they were notified of a theft that happened in the 600 block of Philadelphia Street, where the victim’s credit card was stolen while inside a business. Upon investigation, police determined that their suspect was 40-year-old Kenneth Ashley, Jr. Along with the identity theft, he was charged with access device fraud, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Charges were filed through District Judge Tony Sottile’s office and he was placed in Indiana County Jail.

State police have released more information on a hit-and-run crash in West Wheatfield Township that happened on October 19th. Police say that a Ford Focus driven by an unknown driver had made a left turn from Bowser Road onto Route 22 and pulled out in front of a Honda HRV driven by 22-year-old Andrew Edwards of Greensburg and a Mercedes-Benz SUV driven by 18-year-old Sarah Huang of Boalsburg. Huang tried to stop after the Ford jumped the curve, but the two collided and Edwards rear-ended Huang’s SUV. No injuries were reported.
