If you wish to vote by mail in the election on November 5th, time is running out for you to request a ballot. Applications for a mail-in ballot must be received by the county election office by five o’clock Tuesday afternoon (October 29). For those who already have a ballot and have not sent it in, you have until 8 PM on Election Day (November 5). Postmarks after that deadline will not be accepted.
The interim chancellor of the State System of Higher Education sent a letter last week officially informing members of APSCUF that they would be granted one half-day of paid administrative leave for teaching faculty to vote in the election or up to two hours paid for faculty whose duties are not in the classroom. Dr. Christopher Fiorentino’s letter specifies that the policy is subject to the department being adequately staffed during the absences.
