Two sentencing hearings are scheduled for Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas today.
One of them is for 37-year-old Joshua Michael Burgess of Indiana, who pleaded guilty to two counts of theft by unlawful taking for an incident on April 4th of 2022. On that day, Burgess allegedly went to a vehicle repair shop in the “00” block of North 2nd Street and took his vehicle in the middle of the night without paying the $5000 for completed repairs. As part of the plea bargain, charges of fraudulent removal of a vehicle from a garage and theft of services were not prosecuted.
Also due for sentencing today is Gordon Lee Dunminre. The 61-year-old Indiana man pleaded guilty but mentally ill to a charge of endangering the welfare of a care-dependent person. Officers said that he was responsible for someone’s care between late 2022 and early 2023, but failed to provide adequate treatment, care or services to preserve the victim’s health, safety and welfare.
