56 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties are now in a high-risk category for fire danger, according to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. DCNR says this is due to recent dry conditions fueled by unseasonably warm temperatures and low humidity. DCNR is urging anyone lighting fires outside to keep combustible items at least ten feet away and have water nearby to put out any embers. They added that 99-percent of Pennsylvania wildfires are started by humans, and a single spark can turn into something dangerous.
