Another municipal authority has announced water conservation efforts.
The Indiana County Municipal Services Authority has asked its customers to voluntarily cut back non-essential water use. Officials with the authority say that the area they serve is on the cusp of a drought watch and with no significant rain in the forecast, water levels are not expected to go up anytime soon. The authority is asking people to reduce non-essential water use, such as washing cars and watering lawns.
The Blairsville Municipal Authority still has a mandatory water conservation effort in effect. That was renewed earlier this month at a Blairsville Borough Council meeting. The Central Indiana County Water Authority and Pennsylvania-American Water have not issued any advisories for their customers.
