Today is the 2024 General Election and it is one of the most highly anticipated elections in recent history.
The polls in Pennsylvania open at 7:00 this morning and will close at 8:00 tonight. 8:00 tonight is also the deadline to get your mail-in ballot to the county courthouse for your vote to count. The county elections office will be open to the public until 8:00 PM to accept ballots. Speaking of mail-in ballots, officials will start counting those that have already been submitted as the polls open today.
Along with the Presidential race, voters will choose Pennsylvania’s US Senator, representative to the US Congress, State Auditor General, State Treasurer, and State House and Senate Seats. For Indiana County, State Representatives Jim Struzzi and Brian Smith are running unopposed for their respective district, and State Senator Joe Pittman is also running unopposed.
We will have local coverage of the election returns throughout the night on WCCS and on our Facebook Page.
