Indiana Regional Medical Center nurse Chelsea Tunney has been presented with a Cameo of Caring award.
The award recognizes nurses across Pennsylvania that have gone above and beyond the call of duty by providing outstanding care, serving as advocates for their patients, and exemplifying the highest standards of the nursing profession. The award is presented to one nurse in each participating hospital.

While Tunney, a registered nurse on the Surgical Specialty Care Unit, was recognized for her overall achievements, one story that was mentioned in her nomination was being assigned to a pediatric patient. Even on days off, Tunney took time to check in on her patient, and even brought baby food to help assess if the patient was ready to move on to solid food. In a statement, IRMC Chief Nursing Officer Wendy Haslip said that Tunney “exudes passion for the profession of nursing.”
The awards ceremony was held earlier this month in Pittsburgh.
