First responders had a busy day on Friday with several calls for service, including a vehicle fire that required response from three fire departments.
That vehicle fire was reported at 6:46 PM on Bracken Road in Buffington Township. Vintondale and Buffington fire departments were initially called to the scene. About 20 minutes later, the Armagh-East Wheatfield fire department was called out. The County HAZMAT team was called in an hour later to help with the cleanup efforts. Details on how the fire started have not been released.
Commodore fire department was called out at 11:16 AM for a carbon monoxide alarm activation on Route 240 in Green Township.
Two rescues were also reported. The first was on 2nd Street in Clymer Borough as the Clymer Fire Department was called out to rescue a child locked in a residence at 2:35 PM. The other rescue was along Oakland Avenue in Indiana Borough. Indiana Fire Association was called out at 6:05 PM
