White Township Supervisors approved advertising next year’s budget at their meeting Wednesday, and while it contains a slight deficit, there will be no tax increase for residents.
The budget comes to $9,147,460.03 in revenues and $10,374,452.17 in expenses, resulting in a deficit of a little more than $1.2 million. Township Manager Chris Anderson said it was a project-heavy budget that contains a lot of carry-over from 2024.
Supervisors also awarded the Heritage Run stormwater project to Curry and Kepple, Inc., as they submitted the lowest of 11 total bids of $157,431.38. Anderson said that amount will soften the blow for next year’s budget.
In other business, Supervisors approved advertising the proposed junkyard ordinance, which will regulate accumulation of rubbish and junk on township properties. It will be available on the township’s website for public review and residents are encouraged to submit feedback on the draft. No date has been set for when it will go for final approval.
