More information has been released concerning the crash of a school bus on Friday morning in Washington Township.
The crash was reported at 8:02 AM on Route 954 near the intersection with Red Lion Road, as Bus 128 from the Indiana School District went into a ditch on along the side of the road. State police confirmed that the crash was caused by the slushy road conditions at that time. The driver of the bus, 65-year-old Carl Martin of Indiana, was not able to go through a left curve in the road cleanly and the bus slid into the ditch along the right side of the road, rolling partly onto its side. Martin was able to get a hold of authorities and say that he had been driving 12 students to Seeds of Faith Christian Academy, which was nearby, and neither he nor the students were injured.
The Plumville and Creekside fire departments were assisted by PennDOT and State Police, and the students were taken to school by a school activity van. The bus had to be towed from the scene.
