Not only will people be putting turkeys in the oven for Thanksgiving tomorrow morning, but there will also be runners getting ready to work up an appetite and help the YMCA at the same time.
The 10th annual Turkey Trot will be held tomorrow morning at 8:30 at the Mytrysak Family Tree Farm at 1803 Fleming Road. Eric Neal of the YMCA says that the aim every year is to make sure that this is a great family tradition.
Two courses are being offered this year: The traditional 5k run through the trees at Mytrysak Family Tree Farm and a one-mile walking course. Neal said that the event will be done by 11:00, which will be just in time for early Thanksgiving lunch.
Cost is $40 for adults, $10 for kids 12 to 18 and kids 11 and under are free. Registration starts at 7:30 tomorrow morning.
