Some of Indiana County’s first responders have had an early wake-up call as some calls were reported early this morning.
The first call was for a gas leak reported on North Brady Street in Blairsville Borough at 12:52 this morning. Blairsville and Blacklick fire departments were dispatched at the time.
Two vehicle accidents were also reported this morning. The first was on Route 403 South in Buffington Township. Vintondale and Brush Valley fire departments were called out at 2:50 AM, along with Black Lick EMS and state police. Details on the crash have not been released.
The other accident was reported at 3:41 this morning on North 5th Street in Indiana. Indiana Fire Association, Citizens Ambulance and State Police were called out. Fire officials said on the department’s Facebook page that a car hit a utility pole near the entrance to the Senior High School complex, breaking the pole. Penelec was called to the scene to make repairs. No injuries were reported. The car was quickly towed from the scene. Crews expect North 5th from Clark Street to MacGregor to be closed for a few hours.
