Three people connected with Indiana County organizations were named to the Pennsylvania Business Central “Foremost Under 40” list.
The honorees are selected from a pool of nominees submitted by the publication’s readers in 23 Pennsylvania Counties. The final selections represent a group of young professionals “whose vision, ambition and commitment position them to excel in an increasingly competitive world.” The picks are based on individuals who have made a tangible impact on the central Pennsylvania business landscape by either driving business growth, navigating personal or professional changes or by giving back to the community.
Two on the list are from First Commonwealth Bank. They are Vice President and Financial Solutions Area Manager Bethany Bachman and Vice President of Corporate Banking Kate Whysong. Bachman was awarded the Tomorrow’s Promise Award in 2022 by the PA Banker’s Association Women in Banking group and represented First Commonwealth as a panelist at the Women in Banking conference. Whysong was recognized for her community service as treasurer for Friends of Shawnee & Blue Knob State Parks and the Chestnut Ridge Baseball League. She is also a mentor for the Young Entrepreneurs Academy and is involved in the Healing Patch and Blair County Youth organizations.
The third person from Indiana who made the list was IUP’s Director of Strategic Partnerships Christina Koren. She serves on numerous local, county, and state committees, teaches evening classes enriched by real-world experiences, and champions rural community engagement through public speaking, service, mission trips, and leading professional development for educators.
