Marney Beth (Dolan) Mortimer, 55, of Peachtree, GA (formerly of Blairsville) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 surrounded by her loving husband and children.
The daughter of Patrick D. Dolan, Sr. and Joy Lee (Matthews) Dolan, she was born June 18, 1969, in Indiana, PA.
Marney attended Derry Area High School. She devoted her life to caring for her family and creating a loving home.
She was known for her unwavering devotion to the people she loved, always ready to offer her support. Marney had a special way of making people feel cared for, ensuring no one ever felt alone in their struggles. Her greatest joy was in the family she nurtured – her husband, children, and grandchildren, who fondly referred to her as GiGi, were the light of her life.
Marney also had a soft spot for animals and could never resist bringing home a stray in need of love. It brought her great joy to feed the deer, birds, and squirrels that were in her yard. Her home was a sanctuary for both family and animals alike, filled with the sound of laughter, the feeling of warmth and comfort, and a few wet noses and wagging tails.
She enjoyed cooking, traveling, a good scratch off ticket, and a cozy Sunday watching the Steelers.
Surviving is her mother, Joy Lee Dolan; her loving husband, Thomas M. Mortimer III, whom she married on January 12, 2018; three children, Kalie Mazzoni (Denis “Bubba”) of New Alexandria, Travis Watt (Beth) of Blairsville, and Devon Clark (Max) of Pittsburgh; two stepchildren, Thomas Mortimer IV (Jessica) of Hunker and Ashton Gradischek (Dave) of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Maxton, Mia, and Monroe Mazzoni; three step grandchildren, Sophia Gradischek, David Gradischek, and Mia Mortimer; a brother, Troy Dolan (Karrie) of Blairsville; and a sister, Marcia Dolan of Greensburg.
She was preceded in death by her father, Patrick D. Dolan, Sr., a sister, Joy Lee Dolan, and two brothers, Patrick Dolan, Jr. and her twin, Keith Dolan.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 8th, from 2 PM until the time of the funeral service at 4 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home Inc., 49 N. Walnut St. with Pastor Steve Rearick officiating.
