The Purchase Line school board Monday night approved adding a new course for the 2025-26 academic year.
Superintendent Patricia Berezansky said the new course will be a prerequisite for the district’s Aviation I and II courses, which will better prepare students who want to obtain unmanned aircraft licenses from the Federal Aviation Administration.
In other business, the board accepted the donation of a basketball shooting machine valued at $4,500 from Dr. Dish Rebel+. It will primarily be used by the girls’ basketball team, but Berezansky said the boys’ team will also be allowed to use it in the future. The board also accepted the second reading and revisions to several district policies. Those range from community engagement, discrimination/harassment of students and staff, and parental/family involvement.
