The Pennsylvania Department of Health is distributing free Covid-19 test kits today and Friday in Indiana County.
This is part of an effort to get testing kits into the hands of more people in vulnerable communities so they can determine if they have Covid-19 or not. The rapid test kits have received Emergency Use Authorization from the Food and Drug Administration, and are approved for people two years of age and up. The tests provide results in about 15 minutes.
The tests are free to everyone, and will be provided on a first-come first-served basis. A limit of four test kits will be in place to make sure that everyone who wants them can get them. Individuals do not need to show Covid-19 symptoms to get the test kits.
The kits will be available today and Friday from 10 to noon and 1:30 to 3 PM at the Indiana County State Health Center at 75 North 2nd Street in Indiana.
