Two people from Dayton were charged on Monday with an armed robbery at the Subway Restaurant in Numine, Armstrong County on January 21st.
23-year-old Joseph Paul Vandervort and Amy Marie McMaster were each charged with four counts of aggravated assault and two counts each of robbery with a deadly weapon, robbery-threatening injury, reckless endangerment and terroristic threats. Surveillance video showed Vandervort holding up the Subway near West Shamokin High School on January 21st. Andreassi said Vandervort brandished a gun during the holdup, and aimed the gun at the clerk’s head several times. McMaster waited outside in a pickup truck and they drove away after the clerk warned Vandervort that police were called.
Andreassi said he is seeking enhanced penalties due to Vandervort and McMaster threatening the life of the Subway employee. Both are in the Armstrong County Prison after failing to post $50,000 bond.
