The Indiana Area Collaborative Team’s stakeholders met today to go over plans for the unsanctioned “IUPatty’s” celebration expected this weekend.
While some years it has been marred with excessive drinking and violence, the past few years have been quiet.
IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll said that over the last few years, the students have taken some pride in the community they are living and being educated in.
He also said that the community should remain vigilant for anything that seems out of place.

Police efforts will include appearances by the Indiana Borough and State Police , along with PSP’s K-9 and mounted units. I-Act officials also reminded those hosting a gathering to follow codes and to not have their parties on rooftops or let them get out of control. Alternative activities have also been scheduled starting today and running through Sunday, when students will head out into the borough to help with cleanup efforts.
