The budget hearings in Harrisburg this week will feature some of the most significant testimony of the budget season.
On Monday in the House of Representatives, the Department of Education will take up the morning and part of the afternoon session, with the community colleges also scheduled for the afternoon. On Tuesday, the Appropriations Committee will hear from the state-related universities and the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency. Wednesday’s hearings will be entirely for the Department of Human Services. And on Thursday, the committee will hear from the budget secretary and the governor’s executive offices.
The Senate Appropriations Committee will also hear from the Department of Human Services, on Tuesday, and from the departments of Health and State on Wednesday, and from the Department of Education on Thursday.
