On Tuesday, the Center Township Supervisors approved creating a checking account to distribute funding for a grant for the Homer City Area Athletic Boosters.
The account will hold the recently awarded $250,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Greenways, Trails and Recreation program. The money will be used for upgrades to the bleacher seats to bring them up to code at First Commonwealth Bank Field and for an irrigation system. Supervisor Matt Housholder explained why the Township will be the custodian of the money.
Audio PlayerSupervisors also approved advertising for a new Code Enforcement Officer. The current officer has an illness and is not able to do the job, but has not fully resigned.
