Indiana County’s two remaining teams in the PIAA state basketball tournament will both be on the court tonight, and on our Renda Broadcasting stations.
The District 6 Double-A champion Homer-Center Wildcats tipoff tonight against WPIAL third place finisher Serra Catholic at Gateway High School in Monroeville. 24-4 Homer Center destroyed Burgettstown, 50-18 on Tuesday while 21-2 Serra Catholic bested Clarion Limestone, 52-37.
Nick Moore’s Wildcats have been a defensive force all season long, and the coach says they will have to be tight again tonight.
District 6 Triple-A champ River Valley has a date tonight with District 5 champion Chestnut Ridge. River Valley is 22-4 and coming off a rout of Pequea Valley, 58-31 on Tuesday. Chestnut Ridge is 14-11. It beat Waynesburg Central, 53-29, in the first round.
River Valley coach Ric Brown says his girls will have to step up tonight.
Both the Homer-Center and River Valley games are on the air tonight and both tip off at around 7:30, with air times at 7:10, depending on the end time of the games prior to theirs.
