Homer City VFD was called called out shortly before 7 PM Thursday evening to the home of Charlotte Kurcsics at 107 Carlisle Street in Homer City Borough.
Homer City Firemen Joe Iezzi Jr. told Renda Broadcasting they were at the scene for thirty minutes.
“The home owner had a can of Pam cooking spray sitting next to a gas stove that was turned on and the heat from the stove made the can explode. There was a small amount of fire right above the stove and a good bit of smoke,” Iezzi said.
Quick work from the responders minimized the damage to the home containing it to the kitchen area.
