A former resident of Indiana entered a guilty plea in federal court on Monday to drug-related charges.
31-year-old Ruby Gil pleaded guilty to possessing narcotics and a lesser offense before U.S. District Judge Kim Gibson. In her plea, she admitted to possessing 50 grams or more of meth, heroin and fentanyl in October of 2020. She also conspired to possess with intent to distribute about 500 grams or more of cocaine, five grams of methamphetamine, and a quantity of fentanyl between April of 2019 and July of 2021.
Gibson set Gil’s sentencing for August 5th and could be sentenced to five to 40 years of prison, a fine of $5 million or both. The actual sentence will be based on the seriousness of the offenses and Gil’s criminal history, if any.
