Heart disease is the number one killer of men and women in the United States, and today you have a chance to do something about it…it’s “Hug Your Heart Day”, an effort by the Indiana Regional Medical Center to get as many people as possible to get their blood pressure checked.
Knowing your blood pressure is one of the four key numbers everyone should know in keeping track of their health. The others are your blood cholesterol, blood sugar, and weight. IRMC’s Institute for Healthy Living is hosting a free program next Wednesday, February 22nd at the Rustic Lodge, called “Count On Your Health”, to discuss your numbers and how to manage them. There are more than forty locations participating in Hug Your Heart, and at some of them you will be able to register for prize drawings. Everyone who gets a blood pressure check will also receive a “Hug Your heart” sticker that will make them eligible for discounts at participating locations.
